I still owe alai rayyan's birthday celebration post but am too lazy to switch on my lappy nowadays..plus i still havent got the pics from his uncle gee..was too busy entertaining alai's moodiness that i didnt took any pics myself..
So u might wonder about my random headline :) Read an article in the weekend bb last sat about a 2.5 years old girl who's addicted to iphone & i was just worried about exactly the same thing. I could hardly get hold on my phone now since alai is hogging it all the time. It all began when I started downloading all these educational stuffs to distract him when i need to and indeed it works wonder! So i put all his stuffs in one page so that it would be easier for me to find it..it didnt took alai a long time to learn how to unlock my phone and scrolling to his page! After a while he started to get bored of his own page and start scrolling to the other pages exploring for others that might interest him. Now, everytime he sees me with the iphone, he would grab it away & he even knows how to reject calls and exit any incoming texts (so ppl, the delay in responding of your smses is definitely not my fault hehe).
What worries me is, iphone is the first thing he looks for when he wakes up & it seems to be the one that could put him to sleep..oh & the onnoconno is also in my iphone. At first i didnt understand when he said onnoconno repeatedly when he woke up. & one day he just took my iphone & start scrolling to mxtube, switch on video and played pocoyo! & the mxtube is not even on his page! So now i know onnoconno means pocoyo hehe..oh yeah alai has now beginning to learn and says few words other then his usual kalakalak or kayakaya or gilagila :) ..like if we asked whats his name is he would say 'ayieee'..& he knows ball, banana and other simple stuffs..i guess he wanted to be able to talk before the baby comes so he could complains if we dont give him enough attentions then hehe..
& alai's lullaby now is kelly clarkson's song - already gone (which is again in the iphone). I tried downloading a proper lullaby songs for baby but he would just switch it to kelly clarkson again and i have to play it repeatedly until he falls asleep.. It does make my life easier though.. Now i can schedule his nap & bed time..no matter what he's doing at that moment, i just need to switch on that song & he would immediately crawl up on bed and lie down beside me...oh how i love my iphone! Hehe but again it can gets quite worrying...what do you guys think? Is it safe to just let your baby gets addicted to all this technologies.. Would it actually hinder him from gaining other skills i.e socialising & human interactions or how about his eyesights? Im loving how i can use my iphone as a distraction tool & even thinking of buying him his own itouch but again will there be consequenses in the future?
